i s'pose too many guys are making big bucks on ebay, and sliding by.

we got a different system here a course - i just de-registered myself from our "GST" which is VAT to you guys - hate filling in the forms every 3 months (and getting fined when i am so very late with them)

I always find 'power seller' funny. Sounds like they work for an electricity company.

Well if they fixed the darn income tax where mega billion dollar companies pay at least some taxes, then we wouldn't have to carry them on our backs. Take a look at what General Electric did not pay in income taxes this year in the US, they did however pay it in foreign countries. money.cnn.com/2010/04/16/news/companies/...ax_returns/index.htm

exactly blue.. here locally, we are always fighting tax hikes because the local governments let too many companies go tax free. most all new businesses seem to get a moratorium on taxes for the first 2-5 yrs and another big controversy was when the local walmart moved out of one location and moved into a newly built location just 2 miles north on the same road (and got a new 10yr tax moratorium) leaving the old location vacant since no other business could afford to move in and eventually causing 4 of the other 5 businesses in that plaza to close from lack of traffic.

Additionally, they allowed all this new housing construction to happen (being only 1hr south of chicago, people found it cheaper to come south and commute) and it wasnt until the bubble burst did they impose a new construction fee since the schools quickly became overcrowded and with no resources or space to expand. the local H.S. was meant for a max capacity of 1800 students and last year's census was 3200.
