• Bad Company 2 Servers - News from EA - "We are sending out new servers to our providers called "R5". They will be testing them out and changing over the servers by tomorrow evening. This server contains some fixes for the "Connection to the server has been lost" message that a lot of you will have seen.
  
  We are also working on making another new server over the weekend as EA has set up some dedicated front-end boxes just for Battlefield Bad Company 2 which we will update the server to use and should work to improve the stability of connections to EA for everyone."          3/6/10

• Bad Company 2 - According to a post on the EA UK forums by a DICE producer "btw: PC currently has more people playing and are in game servers than both the consoles." and the same producer said on the US forums "Battlefield Bad Company 2 has managed to prove so popular that yesterday the concurrent users in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 surpassed that in Battlefield 2 which has been going strong for almost 5 years."  These quotes were in posts relating to the server connection problems and the new R5 server update that should be rolling into the servers to address the connectivity  problems.      3/6/10

Here are a few steps to try to connect to servers:

Uninstall the BC2 BETA
Look in MY Documents for BC2 BETA directory. If it exists delete it.
Look where BC2 BETA was installed, if the BC2 BETA directory remains, delete it.
Try running the game again.

For all the players connecting to servers and being kicked straight away (and
pbsetup.exe or manual updating didn't help) then you will be happy to know we are
sending out R4 servers to our hosting providers which will hopefully solve this issue.

This is going out to the hosts shortly and then allowing time for them to update you
should see connections going back to normal in the next few hours and continuing to
spread to all servers during this evening.

• PC Gaming Still Rules! - Contrary to what I believe is the gaming industry's and game retailers view.  NPD Research has released a new gaming report and "The PC is still the most-used system for online gaming, with 85% of online gamers reporting using a PC for online gaming activities."  The report also contains various other statistics about gaming but what I found funny was this line "Of those gamers ages 2 and older reporting that they personally play video games on at least one type of system" - gamers age 2???  I guess that explains some player's behavior.  The full report can be viewed here.     3/2/10

• EA GAMES - EA Games is actually giving some games away.  As a promotion for the upcoming Command & Conquer 4, EA is giving away the first 3 C&C titles as free downloads.  The link is here.  I know this is RTS news and not FPS news but it's FREE GAMES!!!!!  and they are classics that are still good.     2/13/10
